For those of you who are impatient as fuck and can't wait for your favorite porter to click a few buttons, here's a guide on how to do it yourself.

Noesis by Velocihaxor

Things you will need and things that you will need to do:

Head over to Xentax and look for the following:

        blp Converter

doa5Uarchivarius - For 360/ PC version of this can extract mesh data not skin weights. If you have the Steam Version of the game you can use ninja ripper to rip the files while the game is running.

Noesis is optional but it makes it easier to view stuff

        Blender or 3ds Max.
For the Blender bits, you might want to ask my slut Kamson.

*If you have issues with the mesh that is seemingly not present in something that was ported over by your favorite porter then it means that he/she fixed that and you should be very thankful for that.

        Python www.python.org/

Now we begin.

How you obtain these files is up to you. I own several copies of the game, bought DLC packs and have gifted a few on Steam so I don't really feel dirty when I extract stuff from it.
A standard DLC patch should contain the following files:

Files by Velocihaxor

STEP 1: BLP CONVERTER

Click open and look for content_data.blp, after that click convert then click copy to clipboard

This is how it should look like.

STEP 2a: USING doa5Uarchivarius

Open the .dat file using notepad and you can choose to add or select everything and Paste the data we've copied from Step 1. Once you've done so just save and close.

STEP 2b: USING doa5Uarchivarius

Open and run doa5Uarchivarius.py. PLEASE INSTALL PYTHON BEFORE YOU DO SO.

After this just click extract all and select your desired folder.

STEP 3: Check with Noesis

You should be able to view the extracted mesh files now.

NOW WE'RE DONE EXTRACTING, IT'S THAT EASY AND CAN BE DONE SO WITHIN 5 MINUTES.

MISC

STEP 4: Importing to Max/Blender then Exporting to XPS readable.

No pictures this time just text

  • To import to blender you need io import TMC-GMD, plenty of plugin installation guides out there. Just look for it.
  • To import to Max you will need, TMC Praser fix2. I'm unsure who the author of that script is but definitely someone from Xentax.

  • You will need to rename the bones if you want .pose files to work if I'm not mistaken.
  • If the mesh has issues that you can't fix just wait for your favorite porter to extract and fix it for you.
  • There is no special skill or knowledge that you need if your primary goal is just to extract the files.

  1. Now just use mariokart64n's script to export to .mesh
  2. There is no step 2. You can use it now in .xps

Just some hints:

Step 0: Ask the real owner "Koei Tecmo Holdings Co., Ltd." for the permission to do it !
Step 4: Use the xps plugin to Exporting from  Noesis to the XNALara/XPS Generic_Item.mesh.ascii xnalara.org/viewtopic.php?f=17… ;)

Thanks for offering your knowledge and to have spent time to do this tutorial. As a neophyte, it's good to know to have the process in mind to appreciate the titanic task which you make (each other with those who also work around and for completing the XNA & XPS library) to share all these models to try rendering some fan art. From my part, I like to pick one some time to put it in another Poser render, playing with anachronism...
Once more, thanks ! Cheers.
